About WBP2

 

WW Domain Binding Protein 2 (WBP2)is composed of 38 40 semi-conversed amino acids and is is a transcriptional coactivator that binds the Hippo pathway transcription factor YAP/TAZ. It contributes to Wnt signaling and breast cancer pathogenesis. It is postulated that there is “crosstalk” between the Hippo and Wnt signaling pathways that had been implicated recently in breast cancer development. However, the key intersections and aetiological pathways have yet to be fully elucidated.

Nevertheless, there are applications to this product as a research kit for the elucidation of breast cancer pathophysiological pathways for the future application such as for screening, diagnosis or prognosis. The applications are vast and widespread as this is a new and novel “monitoring of progression” of an oncological pathway.

WW-binding protein 2 (WBP2)has been demonstrated in different studies to be a tyrosine kinase substrate, to activate estrogen receptor α (ERα)/progesterone receptor (PR) transcription.
